About XIAO
A Mirror Across Three Thousand Years
XIAO is a lifestyle brand rooted in the Chinese Twelve Zodiac — not as fortune-telling, not as superstition, but as something far older and more personal: a cultural lens for self-understanding.
For three millennia, the zodiac has carried twelve archetypes of human nature — twelve ways of moving through the world, through triumph and struggle, through seasons of brilliance and seasons of silence. Each sign holds a portrait. And somewhere in that portrait, you will recognize yourself.
Every sign, a mirror.
Where This Began
I'm the founder of XIAO. I grew up in China, and like many people, I spent years treating the zodiac as background noise — a New Year's decoration, a line in a horoscope, something distant and decorative.
Then, two years into one of the hardest periods of my life — career stalled, confidence hollowed out — I came back to it. Not as ritual. As a question.
I'm a Dragon.
I used to think that meant power. Authority. The emperor's symbol, untouchable and above. But when I went deeper — into what the Dragon actually carries across three thousand years of culture — I found something unexpected: the Dragon also knows stillness. It knows shallow water. It knows what it means to wait, coiled and patient, when the conditions aren't right. Not diminished. Conserving.
That moment changed how I saw myself.
The zodiac isn't a label. It's a living archetype — a character that has walked through every kind of human experience across centuries and survived with its nature intact. When you truly meet your sign, you're not reading a description of yourself. You're looking at a pattern that already knows your rhythms, your edges, your instincts.
You're looking at another version of yourself that has always been there.
The Mark
The XIAO symbol begins with 肖 — the Chinese character at the root of the word for "zodiac" — reimagined through a contemporary visual language.
Three points evoke the movement of life: birth, becoming, and passing. Beneath them, an open circular form draws from the visual memory of the moon and the ancient jade bi, suggesting time, continuity, and an unfinished journey.
Within the form, abstracted elements of 己 (self) and 几 (form) converge into a shape that can also be perceived as a human face.
The self is not placed inside the symbol.
The self becomes the symbol.
What first appears as an O gradually reveals another reading: 肖.
And within 肖, we find 己 — the self.
The open form is not an accident. A fully closed circle becomes a letter. The gap remains because the self is never complete — not as a flaw, but as the condition of becoming.
Life surrounds form. Form reveals self. Self is never complete.
于万象,见己 — Recognize Yourself in Every Form.

What We're Not
XIAO is not a fortune-telling brand.
XIAO is not a mysticism brand.
We are a cultural lens — a way of using an ancient symbolic system to understand yourself more clearly. The zodiac, in our hands, is not a verdict on who you are. It's an invitation to look.
